Highlights of Registrars' Night Out with Newly Elevated Lady Justices

Registrars gathered at Sheraton Hotel, Kampala, to bid farewell and celebrate the elevation of Lady Justice Sarah Langa Siu, Lady Justice Rosemary Bareebe Ngabirano, Lady Justice Mary Babirye, and Lady Justice Mary Kaitesi Kisakye. The evening was filled with jubilation, laughter, and merrymaking as they honored their Lordships for the well-deserved elevation.

HW James Ereemye Jumire Mawanda, Chairperson of the organizing committee, summarized the mood of the evening. "Today is such a wonderful day. The Lord has done us so well, and we need to give Him the glory. We are here to celebrate, to thank God, and to congratulate these wonderful women who have been elevated," he said

The outgoing Chief Registrar, Lady Justice Langa expressed deep gratitude to her colleagues. "My Lords, Worships, and families present, we are here to bless the Lord. Thank you for being my team over the years. Thank you for the work you have done and the commitment you have shown in the registry. To those who have not yet been elevated, I encourage you - God's timing is the best. Keep the faith, do not be discouraged. Any discouragement on our part will only bring down our people."

She urged everyone to maintain love, joy, and peace in the registry even as the leadership transitions. Reflecting on her tenure as Chief Registrar, she acknowledged the challenges and triumphs. "One million cases resolved in this strategic plan- this is remarkable work. Tomorrow (today), I will be handing over. The gift I leave in that office is my faith in God. If there is anything I am thankful for, it is having served asChief Registrar. I thank God for that. He enabled me to be the pioneer Chief Registrar under AJA. I have seen Him elevate people. So don't stress - keep the faith," she encouraged.

She assured the Registrars that she and her fellow Judges would always be available when needed and called upon them to support the incoming Chief Registrar. "When the CR works well, we all benefit, whether physically or not," she noted, before extending her heartfelt thanks to all.

Lady Justice Babirye thanked the Registrars for the support over the years. "This is a joyful day, a day to celebrate...Thank you Lord for surrounding me with wonderful people who have supported, encouraged, and loved me. When I walked in and greeted you, I truly felt the impact of your support in this achievement. You made 'The Mary' visible to the appointing authority, and because of you, I was chosen as a Judge. This is all you're doing."

She pledged to continue serving with love and to support those still on their journey. "I am confident that the Lord who has done it for me will do it for you," she said.

Lady Justice Kaitesi reflected on their time together. "We have shared a great journey. We had a mother in HL Sarah Langa Siu when she was Chief Registrar. It was a humbling experience serving under you," she said. "There is no secret to this elevation - it is just God."

Acting Chief Registrar HW Pamela Lamunu Ocaya paid tribute to the four Justices, recognizing their readiness to serve at a higher level. "Today is a beautiful day, a day to give glory to God for His blessings upon us as Registrars. My Lord Sarah, you have been the calm voice of encouragement, and I will remember your excellent leadership. My Lord Rosemary Bareebe, your transparency, order, and accountability at the RHC are a testament to your leadership. My Lord Mary Kaitesi, you understood and executed the mandate of the Registry of Magistrates Affairs with excellence, leading the largest and most challenging constituency with professionalism and firmness. My Lord Mary Babirye, you served at the Supreme Court with grace, and your wisdom set you apart as someone with great empathy for others."

The evening's festivities ended with the presentation of gifts and the cutting of the cake, bringing a joyous and memorable night to a close.
